Family Day...

We had a such a wonderful day! We decided to spend the day together as a family and really try to value Mason before his little sister arrives on Tuesday. We took him to Panera Bread for breakfast (he loves it as much as his mommy.) When we drove into the parking lot, he said, " Panera Bread...UMMM...it's good!" That's my boy!

We also took him to his favorite slides. He had so much fun, and never stops the entire time we were there. He took a great nap, we played when he woke up, and daddy took him exploring. Our last Sunday as a family of 3, and looking forward to being a family of 4!

I took two pictures when I was pregnant with Mason, and these are my two with Micah. I wouldn't post them, but my little boy looks so cute! Mason loves to swing, and he always wants me to swing with him. I try to tell him mommy is too big, but he doesn't care.

Nursery...

I have finally taken some pictures of the nursery. I absolutely love it! It turned out exactly like I had pictured it. My favorite part is the dark turquoise wall, with the tree decal. Love it!

Our precious baby girl is due next Thursday, April 14th. I think she will be here sooner than that, but I could be wrong. We are definitely ready, and can't wait to meet our little girl!

Little Helper..

Here is my little helper watering the plants. This is one of his new favorite things to do. He gets completely soaked, but he is so determined to make sure all the plants are watered. It is so cute!

In the other pictures, Mason and daddy were getting ready to go explore in the greenbelt behind our house. Mason was so excited! He got his back pack that the Wiedenfelds gave him for his birthday. He put his flashlight in it, and he was ready to go.

They were gone for about an hour, and he came back and couldn't stop talking. He told me that he and daddy had a secret path, and mommmy couldn't go. They saw a deer, and that the grass has snakes, pigs, and turkeys. He also found a seashell, and he fell in the dirt. He told me he and daddy are going to go again tomorrow, and then repeated everything again! Adorable!

One of the cutest things I will always remember, was seeing Craig and Mason through the window walking past our backyard. Mason was holding his daddy hand, and Craig was holding Mason's backpack with the other hand. They were just talking away, looking out to see where they were going. I love my sweet boys!

Also, tonight at dinner, Craig said,"I am so full." Mason looked at him and said, "Daddy you ate too much!"

And when I got him after his nap, there was a dog barking outside. Mason said, "Shh, listen." as he plugged his ears:-) We listened and the dog had stopped barking, and he said, " The dog is too far away." I don't know how he knows these things! He amazes me!

Don't want to forget...

Every day Mason says something that I say, " I don't want to forget that!" Our little boy is quite the talker, and always seems to amaze us. These are just a couple of things he has said in the last couple of days.

- We were throwing bouncy balls back and forth, and after one of my throws he said, " That's a bad throw mommy!" He was right!

- This morning he looked outside and said, "That's a squirrel, like Tiko. Squirrels live in trees. " (Tiko is a squirrel on Dora the Explorer.)

- When I picked him up from school today, Katie, his teacher said she was teaching them to count and giving each student a chance to try to say the numbers. When it was Mason's turn, he counted all the numbers in Spanish! She was shocked and thinks Mason is a little genius. He is such a sponge and remembers anything you tell him!

- I learned a valuable lesson as we went to the park after school on Tuesday. Mason went down the slide, popped up, and said, "Mommy it's hot, it't hot! I need a life jacket!" I learned even if it is 83 degrees the slides can still be too hot, while Mason learned that we use life jackets when we go on a boat. Another thing he picked up from Dora.

These pictures are a couple from us playing this afternoon. It doesn't take us long to make a mess! Mason learned he could do a front roll over, and thought it was so much fun. He kept saying, "This is fun!" I love my happy boy!

This is a look I have seen a lot lately. Mason can't wait for his daddy to get home. Today he was standing by the door saying, "I wait for my daddy!" "Go see my daddy!"

2 years old...

Where does the time go? Our sweet boy is already two! He is so much fun to be around, and sure does love to talk. He continually amazes us at what he says. He often talks in complete sentences which blows us away. He loves to learn, and his vocabulary is amazing. He also never forgets a thing! Right now some of his favorite things is coloring, playing in his sandbox, the slides and swings, and playing with his daddy. I often get kicked out of the playroom as he tells me it is "daddy time." I am so thankful he has such a great daddy who loves to play with him!

At his two year check up he was in the 90% in height at 36 inches, and about 75% in weight at almost 29 pounds. It is estimated that he will be 6 feet tall as you double their height when they are 2. We will see!

He still loves fruit, but will eat anything. His favorites are blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries. He could make a meal out of chips and queso:-). His favorite cartoons are Mickey Mouse and Dora the Explorer. Yesterday, he counted to 5 in spanish which he learned from Dora. Crazy!

He is currently obsessed with (as he says)"MY VERY OWN POTTY." I bought a book for him when we started beginning to potty train him. Craig read it to him one night, and he wanted his own potty. He is not ready to start as he still denys when he goes, in addition to a new baby coming this is not the time to start. You can enjoy the pictures of him playing with his potty. He gets upset that the toilet paper doesn't go "bye, bye!"

We sure do love our precious boy, and can't imagine our lives without him. I love his curiousity, desire to learn, and his smile that lights up a room. He is one happy boy, and we are so blessed!

We were blessed that the McCollough's got to stay with us for a couple of days. Mason and Brody were in heaven, and cried when they had to leave. They had so much fun playing together. They are so cute!

In these first pictures, Mason was putting on a show for us with his guitar that Uncle Jarrod got him. Jaxson, Brody's little brother, was belly laughing. He thought Mason was so funny!

Mickey Mouse Birthday Party...

The highlight of the week was Mason's birthday party on Saturday. We had both families here and his two best friends! He kept saying he wanted Brody and Koen both at his party and he got his wish. The McCollough's came from Fort Worth, and Mason was so excited! He also kept saying GiGi was going to make him a Mickey Mouse cake. The cake turned out amazing! I don't know how she does it! My dad cooked an amazing meal for the party, and my mom helped pull it all together. We couldn't have done it without them. Mason is so loved!

Mason had a birthday party at school on Tuesday, and a birthday dinner with Aunt Jamie on Wednesday. Jamie, Craig's sister, and Mason share the same birthday. Mason and I made them a birthday cake. I would love to say he iced it, but I can't. It is evident that I did not get the cake decorating talent in the family! However, it did taste great.

I finally have a chance to post pictures from Mason's birthday week. Long overdue, I know. Mason had the best week! On Monday, Craig and I took him to the Children's Museum and dinner on the Riverwalk. We had a blast! I am not sure who enjoyed the museum more, Mason or Craig. Craig loved playing with him, and as you can see, there are so many neat things for kids to experience.

Mason's birthday lunch at home...chicken nuggets and macaroni. He couldn't wait to go the museum. He wouldn't even take a nap.

We got the mariachis to sing him Happy Birthday. He loved it! He was dancing away.

Birthday Week...

Today officially started birthday week! Mason will be 2 on Monday as he says, " March 7th." Craig and I are taking him to the children's museum on Monday, he will have a little party at school on Tuesday, and his birthday party is next Saturday. He really is so excited, and I think it is amazing how much he understands. He can tell you everyone who is coming to his party, and gets a huge smile when we talk about it.

Mason loves Mickey Mouse! He always wants to wear his Mickey Mouse pajamas GiGi gave him, and his Mickey Mouse t-shirt. Tonight, Craig and I gave him one of his gifts, which was a Donald Duck stuffed animal. Craig said he will never forget Mason's face when he saw it, he was so excited! Needless to say, Donald hasn't left his sight since we gave him to him. He even had to sit outside the bath tub and he went to bed with him:-)

I was in the other room while Craig and Mason were playing, and heard Mason laughing so hard. Donald (and Daddy talking like Donald) were picking up coins and putting them in his "color bank". Mason laughed hysterically every time. Hearing Mason laugh hard is absolutely one of my favorite things! I sure do love this sweet boy! I can't believe he is already two!

Ducks...

One of Mason's favorite things is going to the river to feed the ducks. As Mason says, " Go feed the ducks bread." I am so thankful we live in an area where that is a possiblity. After he feeds them all the bread we have, he just loves to throw rocks and sticks into the water. Such a boy! He also always wants to wear his rain boots to feed the ducks!

Brody's 2nd Birthday...

I am definitely behind in blogging, and I promise to catch up, but I wanted to post some pictures from Brody's birthday. It is amazing how much Mason still remembers and loves being around Brody. If you ask him who his best friend is, he says, "Brody". His party was at a bounce house, and the boys loved it. Brody loves to climb, and had the biggest smile every time he came down. It took Mason a little while to get comfortable going down the big slide, but by the end he was having a blast.

On Friday when we drove to Fort Worth, I literally heard "Brody's house" 100 times. We said when we moved that we would always take the boys to each other's birthday parties. We had such a great weekend, and so thankful I could still travel and that we could be a part of Brody's birthday! I LOVE these 1st two pictures... we have the sweetest little boys!

The Ranch...

Last weekend we spent the weekend at a ranch with the Huebner Family. We both moved to the area at the same time, and were blessed that Mason and Koen were in the same Mother's Day Out Class. We have been so blessed by their friendship! Mason and Koen love being together, and we love the opportunity to do a lot of things together during the week.

We celebrated Koen's 2nd birthday at the ranch. We all had so much fun! Craig got to hunt, we had girl time, and the boys enjoyed being able to play together all day. Mason's favorite thing to do was swing. He also enjoyed seeing all the animals and riding on the Gator.

Can I just say I love this age! I think have said that continually as Mason gets older, but he is so much fun. Right now, his new favorite thing are his rain boots. I was tired of washing his shoes all the time so we finally got some rain boots. Mason wants to wear them all the time. As you can tell from the pictures, even when he is playing baseball with daddy. In these pictures, he wanted Craig to hit him the ball and he was trying to catch it. We had so much fun playing baseball together!

On a side note, I have a funny Mason story... last night, I told Mason to go upstairs and tell daddy, "dinners ready." He ran off laughing up the stairs, finds Craig, and says, "Eat Now!" That's my smart boy!

My Little Cook...

Mason loves to help his mommy cook. He always asks to sit on top of the counter. As soon as I put him up there he says, "Be careful!" He knows if he falls or tries to get off, he will get hurt.

Last night we made homeade pizza and brownies. We had so much fun and made quite the mess. Mason gets so excited when he gets to eat the batter. In the last couple of pictures, we were making our neighbor some cookies for her birthday. He was trying to put icing on the cookie himself. He gave up and ate it.

Here are a couple more pictures from Christmas. The last pictures are of Mason opening his tool bench. I told him there was some tools in it, and he was all about opening it up. We waited until we got back home to give him this one. He plays with it all the time!

On a side note, his new thing is "no pants" as you can tell from some of the pictures. He always wants to take his pants off which makes getting ready in the morning a challenging task. Yesterday, I kept trying to get him to put on his pants and he refused. I said, " Do you want to go to the slides?" He said, "Yes!"....ran over, sat in my lap, and said, "pants, socks, shoes." I realized he knows exactly what he is doing!!!

Mason wasn't all about presents like we expected. He would open one present and wanted to play with that one, and didn't care to open any others. He opened presents for about 4 days, and has played with them all. As you can see, his favorite things are tools and fixing things. He even wanted to get the dog involved. Mason's favorite thing to do is go to the slides. If you ask him what he wants to do, he always says slides. I couldn't get him to stay still and smile for Christmas pictures so I took him to the slides for a photo shoot. He has the best smiles everytime he comes down and usually says, "Weeee!" Another one of my favorite things to do this Christmas was to let Mason color the wrapping paper on all of the presents we gave. He had a blast coloring them, and also knew whose gift went to who. I also added a couple of pictures of our Christmas decorations in our new house. I love decorating for Christmas... crazy to think it was already time to take them down today.

One morning, Craig and I were talking about what we wanted for breakfast in Mason's playroom and realized Mason was gone. Where is Mason?... This is where we found him. Not only did he climb up a barstool with colors in his hand, but he was eating the icing and candy off his gingerbread house. I love these pictures!

One of my favorite gifts was a gingerbread house that was packaged and ready to decorate. Such a great gift from a sweet friend, and one that Mason and I loved. A new tradition for the Bellamy family. Mason had so much fun as I think he ate more of the icing and candy than actually what went on the gingerbread house. I believe this is the first of many gingerbread houses over the years. As you can tell, we made quite a mess, but had such a fun time!

Little Pilgram...

When I picked up Mason from Mother's Day Out on Tuesday, he was dressed as a little pilgram. Too cute not to take a picture. Today we had an Thanksgiving dinner with just us, and it was so good as we had the opportunity to reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for. There has been a lot of change for our family this year, and yet we are so blessed. When we asked Mason what he was thankful for and he said ham and then he said HEB. So cute!

I realized I never posted anything about our crazy transition, and God's perfect timing in everything. On June 4th, the last day of school, Craig had an interview with USAA in San Antonio. A couple of weeks later he is offered the job and we are moving to San Antonio along with finding out that we are pregnant with our second child. At the end of June, we have a miscarriage at 8 weeks. A hard thing to deal with especially in the midst of where we were at. On July 19th, Craig starts his new job in San Antonio. We hadn't sold our house nor could we find one in San Antonio. Craig stays with his sister Jamie for two weeks, and also wrecks his car the day before his first day. Crazy I know. Mason and I went back and forth from Weslaco to San Antonio and Burleson.

At the beginning of August, we realize we needed to rent a house and were blessed as some friends in San Antonio where selling their house and let us rent it from them. At the same time, we find out we are pregnant again and the sickness began. I remember being sick with Mason, but not as bad as I was with this pregnancy. We got enough stuff from our house in Burleson to survive in the rent house, and a week later we got an offer on our house. We also finally found the perfect house after looking at so many houses in San Antonio. It was definitely God in how we found it, and it was everything we were looking for in a house. I had really given up and was ready to settle, thinking we would not find what we were looking for, for the price. I was wrong!

To make a long story short, we couldn't close on our house until September 30th which seemed like so long to wait. Well, God knows and his timing is perfect as my morning sickness ended the week we moved. I couldn't have done everything I had to do that week if I was as sick as I was. I went to Burleson, the movers packed us up, and we moved into our new house September 30th. If someone would have told us at the beginning of the process we wouldn't move in until the end of September, I would have said there is no way we could make it. However, God saw us through. It was a tough transition especially since I was so sick, but we are in a great house and so thankful. God knew what we needed!

Here we are at the end of November, and I am 20 weeks pregnant and due April 14th. We had a sonogram on November 9th, excited to see if were going to have a boy or girl, and our baby had different plans. The umbilical cord was right between its legs, and we tried everything to get it to move. Needless to say, we left with the doctor saying the baby looked healthy and we had to wait to February to find out if we were having a boy or girl. We will probably pay for another sonogram before then.

We are enjoying every minute with Mason. One of the things I am most thankful for is the ability to stay home with him. I love watching him grow up and learn so much. His vocabulary is unbelievable and learns new words every day. Today, he came in saying, "I found it!" He is beginning to try to speak in sentences. Craig asked him if he new his real name and he said, "Craig". We have no idea how he knew that except that he hears me say it. He tries to repeat every word he hears. Mason learned quickly that the best part of helping mommy make a pie is being able to stick his hand in the bowl once I was done. He thought he was doing something he wasn't supposed to. He was laughing hoping I wouldn't tell him to stop.

Last weekend Mason and I went to the Valley, and one of his highlights was definitely driving the tractor with Papa. Now anytime he sees a tractor he says, "Papa's tractor" and sticks his arms out like he is driving it with sound effects and all. I am sure he will ask to do this every time we go visit!

Stay at Home Fun...

Mason never falls asleep anywhere but his crib. Last Saturday, our little Aggie fell asleep on the couch watching the Texas - Iowa State game.

Mason always wants to do what I am doing including helping me cook. Here I was trying to teach him that an egg can easily break. He had his own bowl and was beating an egg. He thought it needed some pepper. We ended up adding all kinds of things into it.

Our first experience with water colors. It actually went much better than I expected. Mason would pick a color, paint, and then stick the brush in water and dry it off. It was so cute. His picture actually turned out pretty good. I was impressed.

We had so much fun carving our pumpkin. I am not the best pumpkin carver and just learned you can buy templates that make it much easier. However, Mason loved it.

Mason hates to get his hands dirty. He would stick his hand in the pumpkin and pull out one pumpkin seed and then say, "Mony's turn." ( He says Mony instead of Mommy) He loved the spoon so his hands wouldn't get dirty.

Pumpkin Patch...

Mason and I went to the pumpkin patch the other day. He loves pumpkins as we always stop to look at them at the store. He was in pumpkin heaven. He would run up to the big ones, give them a hug, and then try to pick them up. He ended up wanting to buy a little one, and it sits outside with the flowers he picked out and planted. We are going to carve one sometime this week.

Mason started to run away from me. I yelled, "Mason stop!...1....2....3..." He responded, " 4..5..6..7" and kept running. Smart boy!

Mason and Daddy...

Mason absolutely loves his daddy. He knows when he starts to get hungry for dinner, daddy should be coming home from work. From the moment Craig walks in the door, he wants ALL of daddy's attention and only daddy's! I often get kicked out of his playroom or off the couch.

The first thing he wants daddy to do is draw him an airplane then a football. In these pictures, Craig was doing flash cards with him ( which Mason asks for and enjoys), and Mason put his arm around Craig's neck and laid his head on his shoulder. So precious! I love these two boys!

My Handy Manny...

I had to post some pictures of Mason from today. My little Handy Manny helped me put his color table and chairs together. With all the things we are doing around the house, he is obsessed with the drill and screwdrivers. This morning, I would show him where to put the screws, he would put it in, and I would drill it. It was so precious, and he was so determined. I sure do love spending everyday with my sweet boy!

Here is a small glimpse of the house. Mason's play room, which is off the open living, kitchen, and dining area. It is so perfect for him! He loves it, and all of his toys stay out of the way. It doesn't always stay this cleaned up, but not a room you see unless you walk into. I like that!

The perfect storage solution for all his toys. I will point out, I quickly decided I needed a changing area downstairs. Going upstairs every time I needed to change Mason's diaper got old really fast (for both of us). He hates for his play time to be interrupted for a diaper change.

We have finally moved into our new house and needless to say, I am consumed with getting it all together. However, everyone keeps asking to see updated pictures of Mason so here they are. Not the best pictures, but you can see how fast he is growing up. I will update soon ( I promise) but we definitely have our happy boy back as he has struggled in the transition.

Before his long, overdue haircut on Saturday! He looked so cute snuggled up on the couch with his blankets.

18 months...

Mason is 18 months old, and such a boy! We went to his new doctor last week, and we loved her. Only had to wait about two minutes compared to the usual hour wait at his last doctor! He was in the 90th percentile in height and weight. He was 27.5 pounds, and he actually has lost 2 pounds since the move as he didn't eat well for a while. He was 34 inches.

At 18 months, Mason loves to wrestle, play outside,and airplanes. I need to count how many times a day I get sat on. He thinks that sitting on my head is the cue that he wants to wrestle. He still loves his books, and has figured out that the more stories he can get daddy to read him at night, the longer he gets to stay up. When we tell him it is time to go to bed, he says " story, please!" Hard to say no to that! He also says the word airplane countless times a day.

He is amazing us with what he knows. He knows all his colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and some sight words. He said his ABC's the other day all by himself and just forgot T. He is always shouting out letters he sees on a t-shirt, restaurant or in a book. I also think he says at least one new word every day.

He is in a size 7 shoe, size 5 diaper,and 2T clothes. He is growing up way too fast! These are a couple of pictures of Mason playing outside in Weslaco. His lawn mower blows bubbles and every couple of steps he stops and yells, "Bubbles!!"

Vacuum, Potty, and Airplanes...

Vacuum,the potty, and airplanes are all words I hear countless times a day, and things Mason is obsessed with. I have no idea how he got started on the "Ba-dum" as he says, but he tries to play with it multiple times a day. He loves to flush the potty, and runs in the bathroom if we even head that way. And airplanes are his favorite! He hears them fly over the house we are staying in, and screams "airplane". We are going to try to find him an air show to take him to!

Mason also loves to make baskets. My mom and I took him to a WNBA game this weekend, and he loved it. He was so excited and clapping when every one else did. It was so cute! I wish I would have had my camera to take some pictures. Here are a couple of him making a basket at home.

I wish I was talking about our house in San Antonio, but Mason finally got his house. Brody got this house for his birthday, and every time Mason goes over they spend most of the time in the house. Since we were trying to sell our house in Burleson, we waited until we moved to San Antonio to buy one for Mason. He loves it, and Craig and I have to ask for permission to go into his house. Sometimes he says "NO" and others he will open the door to let us in.

If someone would have told me I would go a month without posting pictures, I wouldn't believe them, but I have. Mason and I have traveled more in the last 3 weeks than I thought possible. I will update on us later, but here are a couple of Mason pictures since that is what everyone wants to see!

Craig's first day of work, and I think Mason knew we were leaving. He didn't want his daddy to go!

Mason loves dogs! At my parents he had 3 to play with, and at Aunt Jamie's he had Tigger, which is a word he can now say. Tigger got tired of him pretty quickly. He would growl at him and Mason would point at him and say "No, No, No!" To the dogs defense, Mason can get pretty rough with them!

16 months...

This post is a week over due. Things are crazy around our house as we are trying to get ready to move and I have so many pictures to edit for clients. All that to say, Mason is 16 months and says a new word every day! Some of the things Mason is doing...
- Mason loves to color. He knows how to point out all of his colors and his favorite word is YELLOW. He can also say red and blue.
- he loves to read. We read books multiple times a day as it is one of his favorite things to do.
- he also knows all his numbers. His favorite it 2. He attempts to say them all, but one and two are the only numbers you can make out.
- Mason FINALLY says MOMMA! Other words he says is dada, cheese, water, GiGi, he, you and she.
- he always wants to go outside. He enjoys throwing things down the driveway and watching mommy chase them.
- Mason is still a great eater. Tomatoes, avocadoes, strawberries, cantelope, watermelon, and cheese are favorites.
- he has 12 teeth, and two more coming in this week. These two have given him the most trouble as he has had a rough two days.
- unfortunately, he loves watching his preschool prep dvds. With all the traveling we have been doing, he has been spoiled with the DVD player in the car. A big reason why he knows his colors, numbers, and some sight words.
- If he knows how to sign a word, he won't say it. He signs thank you, please, eat, more, milk, story, blanket, all done, and drink.
Our sweet boy is growing up way to fast. He looks like a little boy now. I have more pictures to post, but here are a couple from today. Mason got a new ball pit with tunnels and loves it!

On Sunday morning I was making blueberry muffins and Mason wanted to help. When I was done, we made a mixture of a little bit of everything. He had a blast getting dirty and learning to stir with a spoon. He always wants to use utensils when he eats, and to use them by himself with no help. He gets more and more independent everyday. Mason looks so big in these pictures to me... they grow up way too fast!

Mason got to spend the day with Brody this weekend as I had a wedding to photograph and Craig had to work. LeAnn was so sweet to watch him for the day. From the pictures you can tell they had so much fun. Saturday morning I told Mason we were going to see Brody and he ran to the door and started crying as I tried to explain that we weren't leaving right then. He sure does love his friend!

Mason absolutely loves the beach! We can't get him to slow down. He loves to run into the ocean and when the waves come, he turns around and tries to run with them. When he is ready to go in, he walks toward the hotels waving bye, bye. A morning and evening trip to the beach makes for one tired little boy! Craig comes down tonight, and I can't wait to see him in the water with his daddy!

Last Day of School ...

Today was the last day of school! Exciting day because I get to spend every day with my sweet boy, yet it was sad to say goodbye to his teachers. We sure do love them! He said they are the best teachers in the world! They definitely made going to work easy since I knew he was being loved and so well taken care of! They loved him like he was there own, and we appreciate them so much! They have blessed our famiy by taking such great care of Mason!

Also, tomorrow morning Mason finally gets tubes! I am ready for the morning to be over, but I am so excited for him. He has really struggled lately and been so frustrated as he has so much fluid in his ears which causes him to be so off balance. I will update more tomorrow!

Favorite Messes....

As most boys do, Mason can make a mess in a matter of minutes. At night we make sure everything is picked up, and before we leave the next morning our little tornado has at least something on the floor in each room.

Yesterday when I came home to straighten up the house, I couldn't help but smile at our little guys mess. It was a mess of his favorite things! He loves to lay on this blanket and he always makes sure to bring his dog and his duck to lay with him ( even though it is only for a minute!). He had a little bowl of Kix which is his favorite cereal which he purposely emptied out and went to get the broom so he could clean it up. And lastly in the picture is spray butter. Why he loves this I don't know, but he constantly tries to open the refrigerator saying, "bu, bu, bu, bu...." He can't quite say butter.

Another favorite that makes a huge mess is chicken spaghetti with squash which is probably his favorite meal. He hasn't quite mastered using utensils yet, but in these he was putting it on himself on purpose. That's our boy!

While the next set of pictures aren't of a mess, Mason loves to open and close doors. He usually wants one of us in the room with him and then he closes the other one out. He thinks this is very funny! He opens to the door to make sure we are still there, but won't let us in. Just like one of his teachers said the other day, we he makes up his mind he wants to do something, he is going to do it!...By the way, Mason doesn't usually run around in his diaper. His pajamas weren't quite dry yet, and I couldn't pass up the photo opportunity!

On Tuesday we went to the ENT doctor to get Mason's ears checked. Unfortunately he has to get tubes, and while we expected that is what he would say, I still don' t like the fact our little boy has to go under. I know it is not a big deal and a lot of children get it done, but I can still worry a little. The timing is perfect as he will get them June 5th, the day after school is out.

I do have a funny story about the doctor's office wait. There was a little girl Mason was playing with who was 16 months old and named Ava. She leaned over to give Mason a hug and our tender-hearted boy got so excited. He moved over, leaned his head on her shoulder, and patted her back. We all thought that was so sweet, and he just smiled. He moved back and was just sitting there, and then all of a sudden, he leaned forward and kissed her right on the mouth. He sat back and just smiled as if he was so proud of himself. He definitely did it on purpose and was happy he did. He was quite the center of attention as we waited.

14 months...

Mason is 14 months old. I am amazed at how quickly they learn, pick up things, and change at this age. He is sweet, tender hearted, dominant, loving , and one happy boy. He still loves to clean, gives the best hugs and pats you back in the process, steals toys, has the best smile, has biten a couple of kids at daycare, has now been biten, loves to chase his daddy around the house, will open doors, will turn off the Craig's computer if he is not paying attention to him, loves to wake up his daddy in the morning, lays his head down when he wants to go to sleep, uses sign language ( more, thank you, milk, all done, please, sleep, story) with MORE and THANK YOU having multiple meanings, likes to play with cars and trucks, likes to take things out and put them back and is definitely an outside boy. When we get home he stands at the door waiting to go outside. We can't even use the word outside or he will go to the door and cry until he gets to go outside.
I was trying to change Mason's sheet and as you can see he was "helping" me. He was jumping on the mattress and had his sheet in his mouth. We were also waiting for his pajamas to finish drying which is why we don't have a shirt on.
Another one of Mason's favorite things to do... get on daddy's computer. He will know how to work the computer before we know it!

Notice I am getting him to like the number early...34 was my basketball number:-) I think it looks great on him!

Favorite of the day...

Breathing treatments is part of our regular routine these days. His allergies turned into a bad, deep cough and breathing treatments have helped so much. Today he thought it would be fun to play with is breathing machine.

The one thing Craig and I really hoped our son would not get from us was our bad allergies, and unfortunately he got them! We have all struggled this week, but poor Mason has been the worst. His nose will not stop running and his eyes and face are so puffy and red. He looks horrible. I hate that there is nothing we can do, and hopefully the allergy medicine will start working! Last night he was feeling better and one of his favorite things to do is chase his daddy around the house. Daddy caught him!
I will leave you with a funny story. You know that Mason loves to be outside. At school they usually get to go outside in the mornings, however, the problem is that he doesn't want to go back inside. His teacher said that when they tell them it is time to go back in, Mason will go hide in a play house and then peak over the "wall" to see if they see him. I smile every time I think about it because I can just see him doing that. That's our boy!

I know it has been a while, but it has been a busy last two weeks. I have had 4 senior photo sessions in the last two weeks and had to design 3 invitations that need to go out next week. Needless to say, I have been busy and consumed with trying to get all those pictures edited.

I haven't had a chance to take many pictures of Mason, but here are a couple of random shots I have from the last week.

You know Mason loves to clean, well he discovered a new cleaning device - a broom! He saw Craig sweeping the kitchen and he wanted to join in on the fun. Even though the broom is so much bigger than him, he didn't want to put it down.

This past weekend we got to go the lake with some great friends Philip and Liah. We had so much fun hanging out and watching the kids play.

My two favorite little boys that couldn't be more opposite. Mason never sits still where Brody is so calm and will just sit and relax. Mason would sit in the grass, but Brody doesn't like the texture of the grass. Brody wants to be pushed in the stroller and Mason wants to walk.

Despite being so opposite they are best buddies. When Brody and LeAnn came over so we could go take these pictures, Mason was the most excited I have ever seen him. He loves his little friend!

This picture makes me laugh because we told Mason he couldn't put that in his mouth, so he tried to get Brody to eat it.

This was the case most of the afternoon. We we put them next to each other and Mason would walk off.

These are a couple from a photo shoot we did with Mason and Brody. There are so many that I love. We had some great expressions. I can't wait to post the pictures of them together. Mason looks so grown up to me in these pictures.

You would never know from the pictures, but right before we took these I had to take Mason to the doctor as he has another ear infection and congestion that is draining through his eye. Also, his balance and depth perception is off because he has fluid in his ears. He is falling and running into things as a result... we are thinking that tubes might be in his future.

Mason has discovered how to open doors. Not sure what I am going to do now! This afternoon I was trying to get things together to go to a friends house for dinner so I shut all the doors to keep Mason in the living room. I heard him in the office even though I had shut the door. He came out, closed the door, opened it, and then went back in. I didn't think he would figure this out so soon, but he sure was proud of himself.

Mason has found the roll of toilet paper. He was so proud of himself, and had so much fun. I am sure I will regret letting him do it as he will want to do this all the time, but I couldn't help it. These will definitely make you smile.

I am sure I have said this before, but Mason loves to clean. If you say clean, clean, clean... he will grab a rag or towel and start acting like he is washing his body. His new thing is to clean the floor ( even carpet). In this first picture he was even cleaning my camera lens.

Mason also loves to brush his teeth. I was trying to brush his teeth and of coarse, he wanted to do it himself. He walked around the house for about 20 minutes acting like he was brushing his teeth. If you ask him, " Mason how do you brush your teeth?" He takes his index finger, sticks it into his mouth, and makes a sound like mommy and daddy's toothbrushes that are electric. He is a quick learner.

I have said before that Mason loves to open and close cabinets, doors, and drawers. Yesterday I was getting dinner ready and he decided to take his gallon of water out of the cabinet. It was quite entertaining to watch him as well as watch him try to problem solve and do what he wanted to do. The gallon was almost full, but that didn't stop him. I think we have one strong little boy. Enjoy!

It is hard to believe that we have to think about what Mason will eat when we go out to eat. The other day we were out to eat with the McColloughs' and ordered Brody and Mason their own children's plate... CRAZY!

We recently have learned that Mason loves Edamame ( baby soybeans), lemons ( didn't even make a face and at the whole thing), and of coarse, pasta. He also had some of my coffee ice cream the other day and liked it! It is fun to watch him explore new foods. He makes sure to let us know when he doesn't like something. These are a couple from dinner last night... pasta, chicken and squash.

Fort Worth Zoo...

On Thursday we went to the zoo with Brandon, LeAnn, and Brody. We learned that everyone goes to the zoo during Spring Break, yet we still had such a great time. Mason wanted to walk every where and did not want to be pushed in the stroller, where as Brody loved being pushed around. We had an awesome family day! On a side note, I have never seen so many strollers in my life. The zoo is a popular place.

Best of Spring Break 2010...

We had such a great Spring Break. I didnt' want it to end as I loved spending every day with Mason. We had such a fun week that was mostly spent outside. Mason loves to be outside and just wants to walk. Yesterday he was pointing to the door trying to tell me he wanted to go outside, but I couldn't exactly get him to understand that it was 30 degrees outside when the day before it had been 70!

Easter eggs are one of his current favorites.

I was too busy taking pictures and he crawled under my car. It was much harder to get him out than I thought!

He found mommy's shoe...crazy to think one day way too soon his foot will be bigger than that!

Everytime Mason picks up a phone he holds it to his ear ( actually over his shoulder). I always say, "Hello. Is Mason there?" One day soon he will say "Hello!" back. 95th percentile...

Yesterday Mason had his one year check up. The five shots were definitely not very fun, but other than that it went pretty well. Mason weighed 24.1 pounds which is in the 70th percentile, and his height was in the 95th percentile. You know I was excited to hear that for my future basketball player:-).

Mason is now walking every where. All he wants to do is walk. His favorite thing to do is open and close everything from doors to drawers to cabinets. I am amazed at what he can reach. He has 8 teeth and 9 and 10 are coming in. His favorite foods is pasta and anything with cheese. He is still not a big fan of vegetables. He will try them, realize he doesn't like them, and then drop him off his tray one by one. He also loves water which is a great thing. We are making the transition to whole milk.

His favorite word is Da-Da. He always wants his Da-Da. He is crazy about his daddy. Tonight he went absolutely crazy when Craig came home from work. It was so cute! He will only say Mom-ma when he wants something (like food!). He still loves his books and his favorite toys are his push walker and big legos. However, lately he would rather walk than play with toys. This afternoon we spent about an hour just walking around the front yard.

Our sweet boy is now a toddler. While I miss my little baby, this age is so fun. I am enjoying having the week off with him! These are a couple of pictures I shot on his birthday. He was ready for bed, but I realized I didn't have any actual birthday pictures.

Burleson Birthday Celebration...

On Saturday, we had a 2nd birthday celebration for Mason in Burleson. It was so much fun, and we are so glad we decided to have a party here as well. Believe it or not, I didn't take many pictures as I was too busy enjoying good company. We can't thank our friends enough for all their help, and especially Carrie who let us have the party at her beautiful house. Thanks to everyone who celebrated our sweet boy. We are all so blessed!

Craig's Uncle Scott. Cheryl, and Nikki joined us for the celebration. It was so sweet for them to come all the way to Burleson. It was so great to see them!

Happy Birthday Mason! Our little boy turned one today! We had a great celebration in San Antonio this weekend surrounded by family and friends, and one next weekend in Burleson. He is one loved little boy! Here is a sweet reminder of how our lives changed forever a year ago today!

I can't believe how fast this year has gone. Today when we were on our way back from San Antonio, we had dropped Craig off with a friend at his lease, and Mason and I drove the rest of the way home. We stopped by Subway and we sat in the back seat and split a sub sandwich (literally). I would just break it up in pieces and he loved it. I kept thinking. "What happened to my little boy?" This time last year I was just trying to figure out how to nurse, and asking my hopital nurses a million questions!

These are a couple from this weekend. It has been a long day so I will post more tomorrow! This is Mason enjoying his special cake that his GiGi made him. He loved being the center of attention.

It's BIRTHDAY WEEK! Here is my birthday boy trying to unload the dishwasher this morning. His birthday is Sunday, but he wore his birthday shirt to school so all his friends can tell him Happy Birthday:-). Mason is officially walking, but believe it or not I don't have a picture! We have been getting our house ready to put on the market which has been an all consuming task. I haven't taken pictures of Mason all week. I hope to get some of him in motion tonight! On Sunday he would take 3 or 4 steps and then lose his balance, but at school they said he would take off since he had his shoes on.

I forgot how happy he is all the time when he is well. His new thing is that he likes to "clean" everything. He will take a diaper out and act like he is cleaning the floor. Last night, he wouldn't let me take the wash cloth away from him because he kept cleaning his body. Every night when he is finished eating, I wipe off his tray, give him a towel, and he dries it off by "cleaning" it. I wonder if he will be a boy that doesn't like to get dirty? I doubt it!

How Does He Know That...

Today we had such a fun day together. This is the first weekend in 6 weeks that Craig didn't study. Mason is getting finally getting over his ear infection. Today I caught myself many times thinking how does he know that! He now points the remote to the tv every time he picks one up. Every morning after his bottle, Mason gets to watch a Baby Einstein video or his number video ( that is the only way I can get ready in the morning) This morning he slide down out of the chair, crawled over to the dvd player, turned it on, and kept looking up at the tv wondering why his video wouldn't come on. It was so funny! I have to change something on the remote to play the dvd and once it started, he crawled back and started watching it.
Tonight when he has taking a bath he grabbed the wash rag and started wiping his arms and legs. He was trying to clean himself. He also pulled his shoes out of his bag and were "trying" to put them on his feet.

He also always asks for his daddy. He loves his daddy. Today he just laughed and laughed while playing with his daddy. Mason had his first lollipop today. We learned that lollipop = no nap and one hyper little boy!! He wouldn't take it out of his mouth.

Mason has become much more mobile the last couple of days. He walks all over the place when he can hold on to something. He will take my hand and take 5 -7 steps, then I think he thinks he can get where he is going faster if he crawls. He is going to take off walking soon and never look back. All day I thought about the great pictures I would get of Mason playing in the snow after school. So much potential as I thought about his cute hat, matchting jacket and pants, and his little Nike Shox. In my mind, they would definitely be some frameable pics... all until I got the call at 1:00 that said Mason had a 102.9 fever and had to be picked up from school.

My expectations of fun snow pictures turned into an afternoon in a doctors office and the words double ear infection. We got some more antibotics and ear drops, and he does seem to be doing better tonight. So my cute snow pictures are of our house and the over 7 inches of snow. Maybe tomorrow by some miracle Burleson schools will be closed, Mason will be doing better, and Mason can play in the snow.

11 months...

Today Mason is 11 months old. He is standing all by himself, but still hasn't taken that first step yet. He will walk along the couch but that is about it. He likes his trucks, First Signs video, big legos, his red car, and loves books. He could sit and be read to for hours. His favorite foods are still avocadoes, graham crackers, chicken, and a new favorite of macaroni. He takes a nap everyday at 10:00 and 2:00. He has 8 teeth and says da da and ma ma and na na when he doesn't want something. And still one happy little boy!

This seems like just the other day!
Now look at our big boy. He crosses his legs when he sleeps and drinks a bottle. Of coarse, I think it is so cute.

Making Memories...

We realize more and more how quickly Mason is growing up, and how important it is to make memories and enjoy as much time as we can with him. Yesterday we got dirty by playing in the wet grass, forgot about the to-do list or Craig worrying about studying, and just enjoyed our sweet boy. Even though the lighting isn't right or we don't look our best and Mason in his diaper before his bath, we still captured our fun time together. He sure does make us smile!

What a week! Last Saturday, Mason woke up with a horrible cough and running nose, and that was just the beginning. By Tuesday, he had RSV and was miserable. Luckily my mom flew up Tuesday night, otherwise I would have had to take the whole week off. I don't know what we would do without her.

Mason is finally feeling better, but unfortunately now I have a bad cold. I can't even tell you how many times I have been thrown up on, coughed on, and sneezed on this week. Just thankful he is so much better! 5 out of the 7 infants in his class were out the entire week probably all with RSV. Hopefully, we are on the down hill part and pray we don't have to go through this again!

I will post some pictures soon. I obviously didn't take any through the week, but got some cute ones of Mason last night.

This weekend Mason and I went to Austin to visit family and give Craig a chance to study for a certification test. We had such a great time, and Mason had a blast playing with my cousins' little ones. They were so cute together. These are a couple of pictures of Mason, Owen and Araceli. I am sure the next time we get them together Mason will be running right along with them.
Mason loved this drawing table. He has one, but I haven't put it together. I thought he was too young, but he kept going back to it. Of coarse, we had to try to keep the chalk out of his mouth.

There is just something about the simplicity of black and white pictures that I love especially when they are of my sweet boy! On the first couple he kept trying to grab the light coming through the door. He couldn't figure out why it would disappear when he got to it. His shadow was covering it up, and it was quite entertaining to watch.
